Museum of Polish History, Warsaw

competition

The house for the museum was planed to be erected in the prominent place of the city - at the edge of the Warsaw escarpment after covering the Łazienkowska road with a platform. This would sew together the parts of the landscape divided by the excavation of the road and create human friendly space and continuity of the park area. The Museum would be split into smaller pavilions containing separate parts of the program. All the pavilions would be connected by a common foyer under the courtyard. The outer walls of the museum would be cladded with sandstone that is typical for important buildings in the city.
