Allmend school, Zürich Manegg

All rooms are on the perimeter of the building and are well lit with a natural light. The inner staircase is brightened with a sunlight coming from the top. The structure of the building is composite: slabs are concrete, columns are made of timber. Dimensions of the columns are different on each floor due to different loads that they are carrying. The walls are non-bearing light-weight wooden panels. Their layout is changeable and can be adapted to modifications of the educational program.
